United National Party Chairman Member of Parliament Mr. Wajira Abeywardena said that due to the lack of social media rules and regulations, the number of suicides in the country should be counted separately and socialized and Sri Lankan civilization will be protected through the New Online Act.
He said in a press conference held in Colombo yesterday (28th) that this Act is implemented in 194 countries of the world and the economy of none of those countries has been destroyed and our country has adopted very lenient rules and regulations compared to the laws of those countries. This Act has been implemented like other developed countries. The amendments given by the Supreme Court are included. If you don’t include it, you can leave it out because it is unnecessary. But apart from the changes in certain paragraphs given by the Supreme Court, nothing happens.
